It’s been a busy start to 2017!
From August last year, I have been renting a recording studio space to record and rehearse my various projects. It’s been great, I well and truly have a “studio tan” but the location – on an Island in the Thames is very inspiring and creative… photo above.
It took a few months and several fights with rokwool insulation but we are in and have recorded 10-15 different projects/artists so far.
I’ve been considering the current state of the music industry model a lot recently and have come to the conclusion that physical albums are possibly a thing of the past? With this new studio I’m planning on putting out lots of new music, quickly and effficiently which you can download or stream and your preffered platform.
Anyway, I’m currently sat in the studio composing new music for my electronic band “Urchin” (www.urchinband.com) as well as my jazz quartet. Keep an eye on the social media for updates.
Upcoming gig Highlights for this year so far:
Ealing Jazz Festival – July – Secret band but will be announced.
Komodo – a new project with drummer Chis Nickolls – dates announced on social media
Various SMJC gigs (one of my favourite venues) with Will Gibson, Hoagy Plastow and of course Ted Carrasco.
Hope to see you as one/any of these events!
